Show your Customers Love!

When was the last time you showed appreciation to your existing customers? People who have already bought from you or showed interest in your business are your warm leads and the easiest to convert into a sale. Keep in touch with them regularly via email, acknowledge how important they are to your business and use personalisation (we all love to feel special). You could consider some direct mail too – a piece of lovely, branded print feels luxurious in this increasingly digital world. With good design, it’s something they’ll keep or even pin to the fridge! But whether it’s digital or print, every so often give them an extra special gift, unique discount code or valuable resource so they can reciprocate the love.

Keeping wooing them and you’ll be the first place they’ll go when they’re ready to buy.

Show your Passion for your business.

Customers want to know more about the businesses they buy from and if the passion for your business shines through it will be like a moth to a flame. Whether it’s in the content your write, the videos on your website, or through your social media presence, don’t hide the love for what you do behind a bushel. Shout it from the rooftops. What made you start your business? What do you love about it? What do your customers love about it? You can demonstrate this with some ‘behind the scenes’ footage showing the work (and love) that goes into your product/service. Some genuine customer testimonials or user generated content that proves your value and, don’t be afraid to show your face, whether it's on a video or photo it really helps to humanise your brand.

Tell your own love story in different shapes and forms. Your customers want to FEEL something, and that passion can only come from you.

Show your Authentic self

We all know when it comes to the laws of attraction you can’t fake it (well, not for long anyway!). So don’t pretend to be someone you think your customers want. You don’t have to be Alan Sugar or Deborah Meaden to run a successful business. Being authentic simply means you’re being true to who you are as a personality or brand. Consumer trust and loyalty is something that you earn over time so when you market your product/services/business in ways that feel relatable and real to your target audience, you not only win more sales, you gain loyal patrons who are proud to align themselves with your company.

When you think about your customers as ‘real’ people and not just the next potential sale then marketing to them becomes a whole lot easier and more effective. Not only will they love you, but they’ll tell all their friends too! And who doesn’t want that?
